I have always said that nothing drives technology to new levels faster than war and porn. I thought if you could find a way to combined them, technology would make today's advances comparable to the growth of an oak tree to that of bamboo. Well, its finally happened. At least in name. The military unmanned drones, called Reapers are controlled from eight thousand miles away. There are "pilots" whose job it is to fly the drone and and fire the weapons. "Sensor operators" control the weapons to the target once they are fired. Sensor operators average age is 19, they have a greater ability to multitask and respond to multiple voices coming into their headset. Can you say Halo 3? What the drone "sees" and does can be viewed on a screen anywhere in the world. And here is the point. Watching the drones in action and blowing up targets is "mesmerizing". The Pentagon, not me, has given it a name - "Predator porn". I look forward to the advances we will now experience. Future Shock, bring it on!!!
